A little care will help them stay with you for the long haul.

LEATHER

Our top-grain leather is selected for its durability, character and ability to get better with age.

For everyday care
Wipe gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth. For light surface dirt, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water and allow the leather to air dry naturally.

For spills
Blot promptly with a clean, absorbent cloth. Don't rub—the goal is to lift moisture rather than work it further into the leather.

For deeper cleaning
Use a cleaner specifically formulated for leather. Always test any cleaning or conditioning product on a small, inconspicuous area first.

Avoid household cleaners, alcohol, disinfecting wipes, bleach and other harsh chemicals.

Condition occasionally
Leather can benefit from periodic conditioning to help maintain its softness and suppleness. Choose a high-quality conditioner intended for leather and use sparingly.

Give it some room
When you're not using your bag, store it in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight or heat. Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of it. If storing for an extended period, lightly stuff the bag to help maintain its shape.

Leather is a natural material. Variations in grain, texture and color are part of its character, and the surface may develop a patina with wear. We consider that part of the story, not a flaw.

PERFORMANCE POLYESTER

Our changing pads, wipes cases, organizers and pouches were designed with actual life in mind. They can handle a little mess.

For everday cleaning
Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap as needed.

For bigger messes
Spot clean by hand using cool to lukewarm water and a small amount of gentle detergent. Remove soap residue with a clean damp cloth.

Allow the item to air dry completely before storing or placing it back inside your bag.

Please skip
Bleach, harsh chemical cleaners, fabric softeners, ironing, dry cleaning and high heat.

For pieces combining performance polyester with leather trim, avoid saturating the leather. Clean the textile and leather portions separately using the care instructions appropriate for each material.

HARDWARE

Wipe hardware gently with a clean, soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and polishing compounds, which may damage the finish.

If hardware becomes wet, simply wipe it dry.

A NOTE ON WATER

Our performance textiles are selected to help stand up to everyday spills and moisture, but water-resistant does not mean waterproof. Don't submerge your Maison Gauche pieces or leave them soaking wet.

And while leather can handle life, prolonged exposure to water can alter its surface. If your leather gets wet, blot away excess moisture and allow it to dry naturally, away from direct heat.

We chose top-grain leather deliberately: for the way it performs, the way it ages and the fact that something made to last shouldn't need replacing every season.
